Wreckless Eric - The Granary, Buckingham - 8/4/2006
Oh, and the sycophantic bit? On
his website (well worth a read, BTW) he mentioned
YoLaTengo so I wore
the T-shirt I bought having seen them at the Roadmender. Just to
have something to say. (Actually, I could see some similarities in
the guitar playing, Mr Tengo would keep going off on one and I reckon Eric
could be a bit the same. That was one of the ways having Amy there
really worked, he got to do some guitar twiddling while she kept the
tune going. Worked really well.) And on one of his pages Eric has mentioned how people
keep coming up to him wanting stuff (autographs, that kind of thing),
and I have been guilty of that myself so I was going to try to not do it
again. But I couldn't resist asking for a photograph of me
with him (though looking at the pics I wish I hadn't, gosh I'm getting
old) as he seemed in such a good mood. How sad am I?
But the man is a legend (the promoter said so) and apparently
approaching national treasure status (Eric said so) and you shouldn't
miss the chance to be photographed with a legend, now should you?
As Amy and Eric played together for possibly a third of
the gig I haven't bothered to separate the two sets out, but I have
really cut down on the number of pictures (which is hard to do, let me
tell you). The bigger pics are here.
